Body motion in the swing is necessary, but too much of a good thing can wreak all kinds of havoc with your golf swing.
I received a question over the weekend from a BioForce Golf subscriber about “body motion” in the swing.
The question from our subscriber asked how not to fall into the trap of too much movement backwards during the golf swing.
What we are really talking about is weight transfer during the golf swing.
Too much weight transfer onto the back foot during the take-away and backswing causes difficulty in getting back to your front foot on the downswing.
This creates some difficulties in your timing during the golf swing.
Oftentimes, this type of swing fault is termed “body sway.”
So how do we fix this golf swing fault?
Let’s take a brief look at golf swing mechanics.
Optimal golf swing mechanics are both a rotational (rotating around a fixed spine angle) and linear (weight transfer backwards and forwards) movement.
It is the sequencing (proper order) and combination of these two biomechanical movements that develop the great foundation of your golf swing.
Amateurs often have difficulty performing these two biomechanical movements simultaneously and in the correct sequence.
Discussing “Body Sway” in Relation to Linear Weight Transfer of the Golf Swing
Amateurs often shift their weight too far onto their back foot. Once this occurs, they are never able to get their weight forward, causing them to “spin out” and leave the clubface open at impact.
A conversation I had with top teaching pro Rick Smith on body sway enlightened me on one of his teaching points: the weight transfer in the backswing cannot go past the inside arch of the back foot.
In order to limit your weight transfer in the swing to this position, you must “feel” it in your swing. You must be able to feel your weight on the inside of the back foot and not allow it to move any farther back.
If your weight transfer exceeds this position, your timing will be off, your golf swing mechanics will be flawed, and compensation of the downswing will occur.
Now knowing what we need to know about golf swing mechanics and the problems resulting from “body sway,” how do we go about fixing it?
The golf swing is one of the most intricate athletic movements performed in sports today.
It requires precision in every biomechanical movement involved in the swing, the correction sequencing of each movement, and the correct timing.
As a whole, the golf swing is a very difficult movement to perform.
Attempting to “fix” a swing fault when swinging the golf club at full tilt is almost impossible.
So what are you to do?
Simply, it is much easier to break down the golf swing into parts.
Working on pieces of the golf swing and then re-building the swing is the way to go. This is a much easier task to achieve.
Once you have broken down the golf swing into pieces, then you can focus upon the area of the golf swing that is giving you difficulty.
Fixing the area of the golf swing that is giving you problems can be addressed by implementing swing drills.
Swing drills introduce and re-enforce the proper swing mechanics into your body and allow you to eventually cure your swing fault.
This will eventually return you to a position where you can “feel” every position in the golf swing.
So, if you are struggling from “body sway” in the golf swing, break down the swing into parts and address the area of the golf swing that needs help through swing drills.

Here’s the latest information on how to determine the correct size condom for you and how to minimize malfunctioning while testing.
Use these four key steps outlined here and you won’t make the $244,530.00 mistake… that’s how much the United States Government says it costs to raise a child to age 18 - and that’s without college.
Amazingly, there is no world standard when it comes to condom sizes. There is an ISO standard for manufacturing processes, but not sizes.
Even more interesting is the research that has been done to answer the popular and important question
“Which condom fits me properly?”
Yet the answer remains unclear in most condom users’ minds.
According to a study done by British condom manufacturer Durex, 50% of the approximately 3,000 individuals in their study felt that the condoms they used regularly did not fit properly. Fully 35% stated the fit was “too tight” or “much too tight”.
The World Health Organization notes in their study “The Male Latex Condom: Specification and Guidelines for Condom Procurement 2003″ that there are only two major size classifications for condoms, “Wide” or “Narrow”. The data in that study is based on studies in Australia, Thailand and the US. They mention that flat width of 51-54mm is their “Wide” and 47-50mm is their “Narrow”, but 49-53mm is the range of the most common condoms. Study link: http://www.who.int/reproductive-health/publications/m_condom/who_specification_04.pdf
At this point, the question “What size am I?” arises.
A large and detailed survey of actual size of men’s private parts has been compiled over several years by Richard Evans of http://www.sizesurvey.com/result.html
Mr. Evans’ study puts the measurement for erect diameter at: 37.43mm (Modest), 40.55mm (Average) and 43.86mm (Endowed).Study data has been converted from circumference to diameter to better relate to the data used in the WHO study and manufacturer sizing cited in this article.
So here’s the problem. If you are of “X” diameter, let’s say for example, 42mm - what size condom should you use?
With no statistical recommendation from manufacturers such as “10mm larger than you measure” and little accurate data regarding actual condom sizes, condom users are completely left unto themselves to determine proper fit.
Here are the four key steps to determining proper condom fit for you and minimizing malfunctions during your testing.
1) When putting the condom on pinch the teat end, then roll it down. That leaves room at the end and any air pressure built up won’t put the condom at the bursting point. Be sure to roll the condom down the correct way - rolling it down inverted won’t work at all. Make sure the condom gets rolled down fully. If not rolled down sufficiently, it could get pulled off during normal activity. Don’t dim the lights too much at this step or you won’t be able to see what you’re doing.
2) Check for overall tightness. If the condom is too loose, slippage may occur. If it is too tight, breakage may occur. According to an Australian La Trobe University study by AMA Smith, breakage often occurs as a result of the condom users’ girth (not length) being too large for the condom design.
If your issue with condoms is typically “They’re too tight”, try larger condoms which are less common but are produced by major manufacturers. These large condoms most likely won’t be in your local drug store, but are available on specialty web sites such as http://biggercondoms.com.
3) Use lubrication - lots of it! Most condoms today are pre lubricated. This is not sufficient lubrication for extended activity. Use only water-based lube with condoms. Oil based lube will cause them to break. Be sure to have plenty handy. Lack of lube is a cause of many a condom rupture.
4) Start your “research” with a variety package. Buy one or two of a wide variety of condoms and make a note of which ones you liked. When you complete your “research” buy your favorite condoms in higher quantities.
Overall, you’re looking for “Not too loose but not too tight.” Seeking this proper fit with proper installation technique, sufficient lubrication and observation during activity as outlined above will likely be the most fun you’ll ever have doing “research”

You could almost feel it in my living room. My house is just a little over 800 miles away from Lincoln, Nebraska, and I swear I felt it. A powerful void pulled years of tradition, expectation, pride and self respect from Memorial Stadium and left a vacuum. The Husker heart was broken on October 8th this season, and it has not recovered.
The week prior, Nebraska pulled out a thriller in overtime against Iowa State. They’d been pushed to the limit, but they pushed back and won. It was now time to extract revenge on a school that had done the unthinkable and hung 70 points, a record, on the proud Cornhuskers.
Who knew? Who could have known that Nebraska would sink this far this fast? LeKevin Smith’s fumble surely couldn’t be the straw that broke the Huskers’ back, could it? Joel Filani didn’t really remove their hearts with a rusty spoon, did he?
Aside from a win the following week at Baylor, Nebraska is in shambles. They’ve lost three straight. They haven’t lost four consecutive games since 1961, before some of these players’ parents were born.. Missouri bullied them into a 41-24 victory, with Brad Smith exposing the once vaunted Blackshirt defense as a meek assembly of inexperienced underclassmen. Smith threw for 246 yards, ran for 234 more, and with 2:38 left in the third broke the 24-24 tie, and the game with a 45 yard streak to the endzone.
The next week brought a weaker than usual Oklahoma team to town. The rivalry lacked its normal hype and attention, but both teams needed the win. The Sooners jumped out to a 24-3 lead just after the half and though they tried, Nebraska could not catch up, losing 31-24.
Finally last week, the apex of the Huskers’ humiliation came to pass in ending a 36 year win streak against the Jayhawks. In Lawrence, which was almost a second home in that they’d won 18 straight there, Nebraska gave up 40 points to team that hasn’t scored more than 17 against a Big 12 opponent. The Huskers, once the gold standard of rushing attacks, gained just 21 yards on 22 carries.
Nebraska has just two opportunities to qualify for a bowl. The first, this week against Kansas State, has historically proven difficult. The Huskers lost the last three by an average of 30 points. Then next week they make the trip to Colorado for a rivalry showdown with the North division leaders. Without a win in either of these games, the Cornhuskers will miss a bowl in consecutive years. That hasn’t happened since 1961 either.
So what’s the resolution? Many of the Husker faithful are willing to give Bill Callahan more time, as long as he can keep his hands in his pockets or at his sides at all times. But this may have more to do with confidence than it does with X’s and O’s. It’s hard to believe that this season might not be a resounding success were it not for that fateful dagger delivered by Hodges to Filani.
In each of the last four losses, the wagon was shaking just before the wheels came off. Against Missouri, it was the 45 yard run by Smith to cap a 97 yard drive. The lead was clipped to 24-17 just after the fourth quarter began against the Sooners, and Kansas was up just 17-15 with 6:19 left in the third. They’ve shown an ability to get back into games, but they can’t close it out.
They’re a young team and next year should be better. The offense, when the players can actually grasp it, could be lethal. Callahan’s recruiting is first rate, and the Husker fan base has shown they’re willing to stand behind him and give the time he needs.
But in a game of inches, everything from attitude to the length of the grass counts. Nebraska has displayed no killer instinct all season, opting instead to play unmotivated, void of intensity and fire. The Huskers, banging on their chest at the beginning of the season for respect, need to show some for themselves. What began a year of promise is turning into one of embarrassment, and only the Huskers can save themselves.

Benefits! They’re what marketing is all about. No doubt you’ve heard the mantra over and over: “Benefits, not features.. Benefits, not features.”
So how do you tell the difference, anyway? And how do you choose which ones will get your prospect’s heart pumping?
First, let’s set the parameters: A feature is a raw fact about your product or service. You’re open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Your widget slices, dices, and then folds flat. Your cleaning service uses Chemical X to clean carpets.
A benefit, on the other hand, is the specific advantage of your product or service. It stirs the emotional desire within your prospect, and connects him with what you are selling. It tells him What’s In It For Me.
Your convenient hours make after-work shopping a breeze. Your widget makes dinner prep simple and saves counter space. Chemical X leaves carpets sanitary enough for babies to crawl on.
Every feature provides at least one benefit, often several. So discovering benefits is just a matter of finding out what each feature does for your prospect.
Take a sheet of paper and divide it in half. On one side, list all the raw facts about your product or service. Include everything you can think of, from size to color to every service you perform.
Now, change hats. Think like your prospect, and go back over that list. After each feature say, “This means that I…” and finish the sentence. What can your prospect do, or get, or save because of that feature?
Some benefits will be stronger than others, and most likely there will be two or three that you just know are power-packed. These are the ones you’ll want to use in your headlines and leads.
Your prospect discovers What’s In It For Me, and you discover that more prospects are becoming customers. That sounds like a benefit all around.
Does your marketing forge an emotional connection with your prospects? It can. Lisa Packer delivers persuasive, targeted copywriting that dramatically increases your business. Unleash the power of words on behalf of your business by visiting http://www.dramatic-copy.com today.
Are you constantly criticizing yourself for every little time you do wrong, for example saying things to ourselves like….”I should have said this”… “Look I can’t even do this simple thing”… “Everyone thinks I’m stupid” etc, etc.
I put my hand up too, I know I’m guilty of this as well as everyone, I often say things like “I wonder will anybody read this article” or “maybe they will think it stinks” blah, blah, blah.
But when you think of it if you had a best friend and you talked to them like this how long would they stay with you?.. Or would they even want to be around you? But we do this everyday and, when you really think about you’ll never be able to escape from “you” no matter how far you run, so today give yourself a break!!
We often go through our day to day life being constantly stressed out and on edge but when you think about it how much stress is actually coming from the outside and how much are you actually making yourself through negative thinking and letting your imagination run away with you?? So, today treat yourself and give yourself a pep talk
Try out this exercise on yourself when you have some quiet time to yourself. Put your left hand on your heart chakra (this point is in the middle of your chest) and slowly focus on your breathing as you do this, imagine your breath coming in through your hand and into your chest and with every inhalation feel a wave of relaxation entering with it.
And as you breathe out feel the stress going out of your body back out through your hand. When you find yourself starting to relax, start to say some positive affirmations to yourself out loud. Congratulate yourself for all that you’ve done that day and anything positive else you’d like to say.
If you find it a bit awkward to think of things to say to yourself …. mentally step back and think of you as a small child or a friend you really like and imagine what nice things they’d like to hear you say to them and then say these to yourself.
You’ll definitely start to feel a lot better about yourself and probably in the future you’ll catch yourself before you call yourself something nasty or start to pick on yourself!!

“Every man is more than just himself; he also represents the unique, the very special and always significant and remarkable point at which the world’s phenomena intersect, only once in this way and never again.”

Whilst at a Business Women’s Club meeting last week, I heard an interesting talk on Drugs and Forensic Science. As the mother of three children, I try to keep as up-to-date as I can about drugs, but it was something that the speaker, a Detective Chief Inspector, said with regards to forensic investigations that set my mind going. He was speaking about footprints and how they can help in tracking someone down, as each of us walks in an individual way.
I know he was talking about forensics, but I started thinking about how each of us are walking our own paths, converging and diverging with the paths of others along the way, leaving our own individual, unique footprints where we pass, although in most situations not being aware of it.
What kind of footprints are you leaving? Wherever you go, do you leave a good impression or a negative one? How do you wish to pass through your life? Have you ever really thought about it? The footprints may fade away, but what impact have you had on other people’s lives? It is certainly something to ponder.
There is no doubt that having others cooperate with you in your pursuit of your goals makes the journey an easier one. Do you have a support network in place? If not, perhaps it is time to think about gathering one around you. You can be supportive in return. Make a list of those people you would like to share your aspirations with, who will be pleased to add their footsteps to yours along the way. Schedule in your diary when you will contact them.
Have you been walking in circles or standing on the same spot? What do you need to do to get going again? Take that first step and get it done. Do you need assistance? Ask someone from your support team. They will be flattered and happy to help.
Are you walking your own path or one prescribed by someone else? How do you feel about that? Do you need to diverge from the trail and plan your own route? Consider your options and start making plans. Being brave enough to plot and follow your own course takes a lot of determination. That determination comes from a want or need that drives you along. Do you feel that want inside you? It can be almost like an ache. Recognize it? Now is the time to act on it.
Talking about footsteps, how about adding more walking into your day? Park further from the office, or away from the store. Do you really need to drive or can you walk instead? Use the stairs. Have a walk around to stop you from getting desk-bound. Use the opportunity to chat to people. (Getting to know more people for your support network?) Have you ever wanted to learn to dance? It doesn’t matter what kind. Dance is a pastime that combines creativity with activity. Use those feet and get going! Put on some of your favorite music and strut your stuff. You may not be an expert, but I’m certain it’ll at least make you laugh!
What direction are you headed in today? Do you always do things the same way? Think about altering your routine and adding something new into it. It may be a success, it may not. You’ll never know until you try! And if it’s not, what can you learn from the experience?
Walking costs only time and shoe leather. Choosing to tread your own path and leave footprints you are proud of costs nothing but resolve and determination. What kind of footprints will you be leaving?

Surfing originated from Tahiti and Hawaii and is it generally
thought that it was the Polynesians that first took to the
waves. Originally surfing on large wooden boards crafted by the
elders. It is thought that many royals in the communities took
great satisfaction in surfing and proved themselves to be great
leaders by riding the largest waves possible. One leader even
went so far as to never go out in the waves unless everyone else
was to afraid to!
The first Westerner to come across surfing was Captain James
Cook who recognized surfing in the early 1770’s. Westerners
declared that surfing was an unholy pursuit and eradicated it
from the local way of life. Surfing was brought to the America
and Australia in 1915 by Duke Kahanamoku, a Hawaiian Olympic
champion. The American people embraced the sport and surfing
took off on the course of history. It was only in the 1960’s
that surfing was introduced to Cornwall, UK by lifeguards from
Australia. Surfing in Cornwall soon took off and seemed to fit
nicely with the hippy revolution of the time.
Cornwall holds some world class surfing waves, notably Fistral
beach Newquay, but also more locally know is Porthleven which
holds a powerful wave indeed. Newquay has been internationally
renowned on the competitive circuit for some time now and goes
from strength to strength with talk of a new artificial reef
being implemented.
Surfing has for many people become an absolute life culture.
Cornwall holds some of the worlds most beautiful landscapes and
it is a pleasure to be involved with nature in the way that
surfing allows you to.

Vanadyl sulfate is a form of vanadium, a trace mineral. In Europe, vanadium is often used as a natural treatment for diabetes.
Vanadium has been found in human studies to imitate the effects of insulin in our bodies. This ability may allow some of those with diabetes, a natural method to help lower blood sugar, take less insulin, or in some instances stop taking insulin altogether.
Vanadium is believed to assist in the transfer of sugar in the blood (glucose) into muscles, similar to the function of insulin. It is also believed to increase insulin sensitivity in the muscles. This is important to Type 2 diabetics especially, in that one factor in the development of diabetes can be insulin resistance.
This transfer of glucose into muscle tissue has also been touted by weightlifters and body builders. Vanadium allows the body to store more energy in the muscles, therefore decreasing the need for conversion to triglycerides, for fat storage.
Diabetics should consult their physician prior to taking Vanadyl sulfate. They should also monitor their blood sugar regularly when taking a vanadyl supplement because of the potential to lower blood sugar and decrease insulin needs.
The effects of vanadium have been shown to last for weeks, even in the absence of further supplementation. Therefore, it is suggested that it be taken in cycles.
It is probably best to take vanadyl sulfate supplements for about three weeks and then discontinue their use for about three weeks. By utilizing this valuable adjunct to the treatment of diabetes in this manner, a diabetic can improve sugar control, and avoid any potential toxicity.

This article will provide brief overview about the concept and definition of leadership, set of competencies required and choices of power available for leaders through which they can work for organizational benefits.
There is no second thought about the fact that like in normal social life, organizations cannot deny existence and effectiveness of leadership for organizational objectives. In the simplest way, leadership can de defined as influencing other to act towards the attainment of a goal (Rehfeld, 1994, Greenwood, 1993) that in organizational sense mean business objectives. To attain such goals, leaders require a distinguished set of competencies, should enjoy some forms of power and can choose from various leadership styles with relevance to scenario requirements (Papers4you.com, 2006).
It was argued that to secure effective leadership, organizations should examine five core competencies including empowerment, intuition, vision, value congruence and self-understanding (Slocum & Hellriegel, 1996). It was argued that through empowerment, leader influences and control followers while intuition-manifested ability of a leader to scan a situation, anticipate changed, and take risk as well build trust. Similarly a leader should have self-understanding of his opt her own strengths and weakness to make best use of his strengths and avoid strategies that can be adversely affected by weaknesses. Moreover the leader should have vision to imagine scenarios and future path and deciding ways to achieve best possible set of strategies related to his visionary future (Papers4you.com, 2006). However one the most important required competency is value congruence that is leader should have ability to understand organizational goals as well as employees’ values and then reconcile both to optimal level.
Koontz & Weihrich (1990) asserts that for leadership choice organizations should identify the person with a particular set of effective leadership ingredients. That ingredients include ability for effective and responsible utilization of power, ability to realize that in different situations and times human beings get motivated differently, should have inspiration power and ability to ensure conducive motivating climate of his or her team.
Once a leader is chosen with best match of these competencies, leader should consider the best use of available powers he possesses. According to Slocum & Hellriegel (1995), five different powers are available to leaders. They can use legitimate power due to their formal position in organizational hierarchy as well as reward and coercive powers by facilitating ability to influence followers by either rewarding them or to obtain their compliance through punishments’ fear. As far as leader’s own personality charisma is concerned, leader should have ability to use referent power through which followers feel proud to get identification from association with leader. However leaders should have specialized knowledge of the tasks they are controlling so that followers can feel their expert power as well.
Hence the discussion implies that every member of organization can not become a leader so choice of leader should be made with relevance to the competencies and skilled required for effective leadership as well as ability to use power so that followers can get influenced
