The Tennis League Network works a collection of city based internet sites where we connect tennis players on the courts.
Here are some of the cities in our program:
Portland Tennis, Irvine Tennis, Sunnyvale Tennis
Our playoffs Work after every league.
How do the Playoffs Play?
At league end all qualifiers who have won the set number of matches as set by the division report page will have qualified for the single elimination tournament to crown a winner.
Tournaments are Skill Level Based
The brackets could have a bunch of participants in it that you have never played before. Also participants who got wins from another skill level still qualify for the playoffs of the current division they are in. (* see below for a more detailed explanation)
Seedings & Brackets
We present all the qualifiers on the League report pages. League Rule #10 is used to set the brackets:
Rule #10) Playoff Positioning
Regular league ties are broken by this order:
1) Overall Record, based on matches over .500. 6-1 is 5 matches over, 8-2 is 6 tennis matches over and would be better.
2) In season Head-to-Head record for players tied after #1
3) We promote players playing matches, so 6-1 would be better than 5-0.
4) % of games won
Anywhere from 2 to 50 players can qualify for the tourney. The brackets will be made based upon the number of participants.
Scheduling & Deadlines
The scheduling of the tennis matches follows the same arrangement as the league as we really want the participants to agree on a mutual time and location to play. We do have a rule where the higher seed does have choice of tennis court. Also the higher seed has choice of serve or side to start the match.
Prize Pool & National Tournament
Once a winner has been crowned we use the prize kitty to honor the players of the playoffs. The prize pool is based upon the total # of players in the division of the tourney.
* Some participants get raised mid-season from a lower skill level.
