Looking at Mr Nicholas Bredimus‘ family tree you can easily predict he was a lock to rise to distinction. Bringing elements together from a true melting pot, his clan can be traced to the time of ancient Rome, with his mother’s side rooted in Scotland and Germany. A similarly broad mingling typifies the paternal line; prior to emigrating near the end of the nineteenth century, the family lived in England and Luxembourg. Nicholas, who would grow up with his six siblings, was a child of a father employed as a mechanical design engineer and a mother who was working as a practicing nurse. He would spend for many years in homes across several states; Texas, Virginia, Missouri and Arizona. He’s taken on prominent roles within firms across the air travel industry — most of them major brands. Trans World Airlines (TWA), Hughes Airwest, Republic Airlines — all three would at one time or another respectively appoint him their vp. A dedicated software designer, Bredimus’ creative work with airline computer programs is probably his most epoch-making contribution to the industry.
He is easily most famous for the airplane maintenance management software he crafted for US Airways, destined to become an industry standard. He programmed many other programs for the hotel and airline sectors in addition, among them completely automatic systems for handling airline bookings, employed now at over fifty businesses, to say nothing of his innovative room reservation software using Windows used by the hotel sector, which was first installed at more than 700 hotels. He also produced QuikTix, an automatic ticketing network. No matter the fact that this is definitely his strong suit, he also often worked in non-software areas. Responsible roles with American Airlines and American Express were to come, and as you may know he established a business of his own in the early nineties. Is he still active?
